A Fashion Show Like No Other

This past Sunday I had the opportunity to attend and photograph a very special fashion show for some very special young women. The event was hosted by Altar’d State and behind the idea was a young woman who once was a GAL child. Katie is the assistant manager at Grand Boulevard Altar’d State location. The store has a strong mission-based focus. On Mondays they give 10% of their sales to a specific organization. Katie was able to arrange to have the NW Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation receive the proceeds starting this week and going through October 7. (So please support them if you live over there.) To launch this campaign, she decided to throw a fashion show in which girls that have been a part of GAL or the foster care system were able to be pampered with hair/makeup and then walk the runway wearing lovely Altar’d State clothes along with staff, friends, and volunteers of GAL. What an amazing, magical evening! The girls had so much fun; their faces were sparkling with joy. The foundation’s directors and Circuit Director, Bryan Carter, were able to honor Katie with a plaque recognizing her contribution to the good of our organization.

Special thanks to all of the companies who provided us with food, drink, hair-styling, and general support. What a gift to feel the community’s support for this special event.

Please enjoy this video from the evening.
