A Wonderful Time at our South Okaloosa Annual Volunteer Recognition Hawaiian Luau
Last night was our first Annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner in our circuit. It was held at the lovely WaterVue at Brooks Street venue. The rain created a very intimate feel for our approximately 110 guests at our Hawaiian Luau as we recognized the remarkable people who are the backbone of our program: our AWESOME VOLUNTEERS. Fort Walton Beach’s office Senior Child Advocate Manager, Andrea Hartsog, started the evening with the beautiful Starfish on the Beach story. If you haven’t read it, make sure to Google it. It perfectly describes our volunteers. We also had our Regional Director, Paul Crawford, on hand to award our nonprofit of the year, A Bed 4 Me. Our Circuit Director, Bryan Carter, gave a beautiful touching ending to the evening as he praised the volunteers for the difference they are making the lives of our children.
In respect of our volunteers’ privacy, I am not going to post any of their faces as I didn’t get their permission. But I will share some of our staff, the board, and the venue. Please join me in thanking our South Okaloosa Guardian ad Litem Volunteers for a remarkable year of giving so much to our children. What a gift they are to our communities and to the little lives they touch in their fierce advocacy.
