Firetrucks and Judges and Adoptions, OH MY!
All around the country, we celebrated National Adoption Day today. Here in Pensacola, the Juvenile Justice Center was filled with tears of joy as a large group of friends, family, and community agencies supported several children who were legally adopted by their new parents.
About halfway through the adoptions, the building was evacuated due to a fire drill. While the fire department investigated, one of our judges officiated an adoption under the shade of one of our beautiful, large live oak trees. What a fitting symbol of the beginning of this child’s official forever home. “Mighty oaks from little acorns grow.”
