NW Florida GAL Foundation Honored as the 2018 Non-Profit of the Year

Last Thursday, Bryan Carter, First Circuit Director, representing the statewide Guardian ad Litem program, presented an award plaque to the board of the First Judicial Circuit Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation as recognition of winning the 2018 Non-Profit of the Year. The organization started the Children in Need Fund to help pay for items and services that enable normalcy in the life of children in the program . The Fund is on track to provide $60,000 to children served by GAL this year. It also held its first “Sheriff’s Challenge” golf tournament, which helped to develop partnerships with local law enforcement and create more fundraisers throughout the circuit. The Foundation also developed a successful public education campaign, using local television and community leaders like Quint Studer, Dr. Martha Saunders, and Sandy Sansing, to recruit volunteers and boost awareness of the program.

How wonderful it is to have such a hard-working group of dedicated individuals working for the good of our program’s children. Join us in thanking and congratulating them!
